Hush Blossom

Devised and planned a Shop Management Game with a Unique Twist in that it revolves around selling Lingerie to Fantasy Races with a focus on body positivity and embracing individuality.
Conceived as a game to build and develop on idea's made by great games such as Recettear and Moonlighter, but attempting to subvert the traditional ideas those games may hold and produce a work that will be enjoyed by a lot of people.
This game was being built in Game Maker, using GML, but I've since learned both how to use Unity and enough C# to get me going!
As the game is shop based, extended Design consideration has had to be made with an eye for difficulty, player currency and progression as well as a design philosophy focused simply on 'A Different Experience for Every Player'.

CURRENT SHOP HOME MOCK
Although the source of a lot of Design Considerations as well as many sleepless nights, the best display configuration for Hush Blossom was to be an isometric one. Allowing the player to see all of the information they need to be able to in order to manage the store as well as have room for buttons and allow a certain level of customisation. Currently the game works as a fairly simple skeleton of what it eventually will be.
Customers will come in, randomised to be a different race, with different styles and moods and even different spending habits. Currently portrayed by a Ludo-esque piece that follows a preset route with a box describing their details, these 'customers' will buy anything a player has placed in their 'containers', should they match the customer's requirements.
The toolbar allows the players to cleanly select which part of the game to go to. At time of writing, after about a year of development during full-time professional work, the player is able to design and create Lingerie, Hunt for materials to create said Lingerie. Hire, Fire and Use Models and Hunters. Players are also able engage in Commissions where Customers specify an exact piece the player must then design to appease the customer. Currently players can buy Materials, view all of their Materials and current created Lingerie.

With an aim to capitalise on Game Design focused on a D&D Experience combined with choose-your-own-adventure books of the past, Hush Blossom features a Hunting System that allows players to choose from multiple paths.
Designing all of the paths for this took a lot of time and creative effort, as each Region, of which there are around 12, can have hundreds of different scenarios with up to five different options for the player to take.
This Mock system, while fairly ugly, gets across the point for Design Theory testing, so far this system has been by far the most complex to code, but is a core system, so needed a lot of time!
